NHS University Hospitals of Leicester

Project Description

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust was created in April 2000 with the merger of the Leicester General Hospital, Glenfield Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary. The UHL is one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country, serving the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland – and increasingly specialist services over a much wider area.  Their nationally and internationally-renowned specialist treatment and services in cardio-respiratory diseases, ECMO, cancer and renal disorders reach a further two to three million patients from the rest of the country.

As their incumbent Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Ventilation contractor, DCS Environmental Engineering provides a 24/7/365 service capability to all patient services, critical CT & MRI Scan Room Cooling, Theatre Environmental Control Systems, plus specialised medical and catering refrigeration plant.

As part of our service delivery, we undertake asset tagging together with asset database management, assess and provide critical plant condition and dilapidation reporting with a systematic asset replacement programme.

With our dedicated site-based Engineers, we deliver daily ongoing service, maintenance and repair to all clinical, medical, and catering refrigeration, air conditioning, ice machines, ventilation and water chillers. This is demonstrated on a Daily, weekly and monthly reporting basis via our Joblogic CAFM task management system.
